Simultaneous interpreting with a portable interpreting system
The use of a portable interpreting system can be the right choice if:
- more than 2 people need to listen to the interpreter;
- the installation of an interpreting booth would be technically or financially unfeasible for the type of event;
- the event is taking place in different rooms rather than in just a single room, or if the participants will be moving around during the event (e.g. during a plant visit/tour).
Any number of headphone sets can be connected to the microphone, so this technology is also suitable for larger audiences as well. Interpreting into multiple target languages is also no problem, as different portable interpreting systems can be operated simultaneously on different frequencies in a single room.
